- Paneer (cut into cubes) - 300 gm
- Ginger(cut into strips) - 1 tablespoon
- Green chillies(cut into strips) - 1-2
- Onion (chopped) - 2 medium
- Chopped tomato - 1
- Tomato puree - 6 tablespoon
- Cashew nut (Kaaju) Paste - 2 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Dried red chillies - 4
- Black peppercorns - 8-10
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
- Tumeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
METHOD:
- In a grinder, grind the cumin seeds, dried red chillies, coriander powder and peppercorns to a coarse dry masala without adding any water.
- Heat a pan. Add some vegetable/refined oil. Now, add the onions, ginger, and green chillies, Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add some more oil, chopped tomatoes, and tomato puree. Cook till the tomato softens (about 5-10 minutes).
- Now, add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Add the grinded masala and the cashew nut paste.
- Cook for another 3-4 minutes till the masala gets cooked.
- Now, add the paneer cubes in the pan and add some water.
- Cover the pan with the lid and let it cook for a while.
- At last, add the sugar.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with steamed rice.
